In this three week beginner’s crochet course you will learn a range of stitches and techniques to start your crochet journey and build your confidence. If you’ve wanted to learn to crochet but are unsure where to start then this course is the perfect introduction for complete beginners, or those who want to gain new crochet skills.

Week one will focus on working in rows, using half double crochet stitch, and working in the back loops to create a ribbed effect. You will begin make either a hat, scarf, or earwarmer which you can continue working on after the class.
Week two is all about granny squares, teaching you how to work in the round, as well as how to crochet a double crochet stitch, create stitch clusters, follow a simple pattern, and how to change yarn colour. You will make a practice granny square during the class, and then continue making more at home.
Week three we are using chunky cotton cord and a large crochet hook to make crochet baskets. You’ll be working in the round again, but this time in a spiral without joining. We will cover how to work increase stitches, how to use stitch markers, and how to customise your basket to the width and height your require.
Each week you will build on the skills from the previous session. You’ll receive your own crochet hook and appropriate yarn/cord to crochet with (including everything you need to take home and continue crocheting.) If you have questions about anything from previous sessions Zoe will be happy to help during the next workshop.
