Dreaming of sporting your very own Sarah Lund style knitwear? This six part course holds your hand through knitting your very own stranded (aka fair isle) jumper.

Over our six sessions, your teacher, Slipstitch's very own Rosie Fletcher, will break down your pattern into bitesize chunks so you can tackle each part of your jumper with confidence, from neckband to cuff. You'll learn how to manage multiple colours at one time, how to size the jumper to fit you and how to follow a charted pattern.

You'll be able to choose your own pattern for this course - with some parameters! You'll need to knit a top-down, stranded pattern, knitted in the round. A top tip for fair isle: lots of patterns are knitted in 4-ply - remember, that's a lot of knitting so if you'd like to make it easy on yourself, look for DK and up! Here are some suggestions:

Or lose yourself in this Ravelry search!

Patterns must be approved by the tutor before the course begins. We're very happy to offer advice on patterns - and can also help with choosing yarn and gathering equipment.

Fair Isle Club members should be confident in some basic skills - knitting, purling, casting on and off. If you have any questions about the course requriements, please ask and we'll get you sorted!
