Welcome to Cardigan Club!
If you want to knit yourself this most versatile bit of knitwear but are bamboozled by buttonholes, scared of sleeves and rumbled by raglans - join us! This course will provide expert tuition, pattern explanation and accountability to get you wearing your handknit cardi with pride.
Over six sessions, we'll be breaking down cardigan knitting into bitesize chunks - from picking sizes and swatching to sleeves, buttonbands and beyond.
We'll all be knitting our own pattern of choice - with some parameters! Your cardigan will need to be knitted top down in one piece. Suggested patterns include:
- Felix Cardigan by Amy Christoffers
- April Cardigan by PetiteKnit
- February Lady Sweater by Pamela Wynne
- Pop Crop Cardi by Ambah O'Brien
- Effortless Cardigan by Zabeth
- Cottage by Jacqueline Cieslak
- Easy Eyelet Yoke Cardigan by Chantal Miyagashima
- The First Cardigan by Lizzie Hester
You're welcome to find another pattern but it needs to be approved by the tutor before the first session.
Cardigan Club members should be confident in some basic skills - knitting, purling, casting on and off. There is some homework required between sessions. If you have any questions about the course requriements, please ask and we'll get you sorted!
