About Slipstitch

Slipstitch is a yarn shop, haberdashery, and craft workshop in sunny Muswell Hill in north London. We believe that craft is for everyone and you'll be as welcome here as a complete beginner as you will a craft expert.

We opened in January 2019 and are proud to be part of a parade of independent shops, businesses and cafes. We're just up from the library and opposite the pub - a proper village feeling, still in London.

We love to work with natural fibres and choose products with sustainable packaging wherever possible. Your online order may arrive in reused jiffy bags - waste not want not!

We're proudly a welcoming space for queer crafters - come and join our Queer Craft nights.

Our staff are not only experts but enthusiasts - we love our crafts and have our own projects stashed around the shop to pick up at any moment.

We're the definition of a small business - your emails get answered by the same person who takes the parcels to the post office, does the accounts and the washing up, and chooses what to stock.

Slipstitch can be seen in series two and three of Motherland on BBC Two as "knick-knack prison" Hygge Tygge.

The shop is owned by me, Rosie Fletcher. I learnt to knit just after I left university and it quickly became my whole personality (in summer, my yarn tattoo can be seen peeking out from my sleeve!) I'm the author of You Will Be Able to Knit By the End of This Book and I have a regular column about running a yarn shop in Knit Now magazine. I teach most of our knitting and crochet classes, during which I will tell you about my cat.
